alaina bush is a writer, journalist, multimedia artist, musician and researcher based between boston, montréal and (occasionally) reykjavík.
bush graduated from concordia university in 2024 with a bachelor's degree in journalism, during and since which she has done research for organizations like the institute for inclusive, investigative, and innovative journalism (I3J); futurebriefing; and others.
while trained in visual, audio, and multimedia journalism, bush has always been drawn to writing; her work has often been described as personable, humorous and biting. her writing spans several formats and languages, with both creative and journalistic pieces of hers having been written and published in english and icelandic.
drawn to discord, bush's visual and textural work attempt to combine natural elements with the man-made by repurposing waste and refuse into pieces that effectively comment on humanity's destruction in its search for beauty. she sources many of her materials from discarded or donated goods.
all together, bush's aim with her work is to show the underbellies of the human psyche in a way that inspires action.
